Alia Bhatt stole the spotlight with her red carpet arrival in a sculpted corseted silhouette at the opening ceremony of Cannes Film Festival 2026.
On the opening day of the film festival, Alia Bhatt donned the fashion designer Tamara Ralph’s ensemble, which featured a sculpted corseted silhouette, plunging neckline, sweeping train, and a dreamy chiffon scarf trailing behind her. The actress complemented her outfit with the Golconda Rose jewellery, which is a celebration of Amrapali’s legacy and Jaipur’s timeless craftsmanship.
To elevate her look, Alia chose Chopard’s earrings and rings for the day. The actress has arrived at the event to represent L’Oreal Paris. Alia Bhatt took to her Instagram handle to share glimpses of her opening day look at the Cannes Film Festival. In one of the snaps, the actress was also seen greeting her fans and the photographers.
Palme d’Or for Peter jackson
The Cannes Film Festival officially started on Tuesday night with a more muted tone than in years past, with fewer A-list Hollywood celebrities on the red carpet and politics largely absent from the opening ceremony speeches. Elijah Wood walked the carpet ahead of presenting Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson with an honorary Palme d’Or for lifetime achievement. Others on the carpet included model Heidi Klum, legendary actor Joan Collins and Alia Bhatt.
This year’s jury, including Oscar-nominated actors Demi Moore and Stellan Skarsgard, also walked the red carpet into the plush Grand Lumiere Theatre.
Farhana Bodi catches the eye
Farhana Bodi, the Indian-origin, Dubai-based actress, popularly known for Dubai Bling, has built one of the most recognisable presences across international galas and red carpets. She returned to Cannes this year in a custom aquamarine couture gown that made the red carpet entirely her own. Dripping in Swarovski crystals from head to toe, she was bejewelled in a creation that took close to a year to bring to life.
