National Conference president Farooq Abdullah on Thursday expressed hope that the Supreme Court would deliver justice if matters related to the West Bengal elections reach the country’s top court.
Speaking to reporters in Srinagar after chairing a key party meeting, Abdullah said several opposition leaders had raised concerns over the poll results.
“Mamata Banerjee is raising questions, Akhilesh Yadav is raising questions — everyone is raising questions,” he said. “I hope they will take the matter to the Supreme Court and that the Supreme Court will deliver justice.”
Responding to another question regarding the INDIA bloc, Abdullah said, “The INDIA bloc is always operative and will continue to function.”
Meanwhile, Abdullah chaired a one-day meeting of the Working Committee of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference’s Kashmir Province at Nawa-e-Subah in Srinagar.
According to the party, the meeting was attended by party vice president and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, senior functionaries, working committee members and special invitees.
In a post on X, the party said extensive deliberations were held on the prevailing political and administrative situation in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, issues confronting the people, organisational matters and the party’s future course of action.
